CRAFTCorner | DIY kate spade gold confetti plates!

If you’re like me, you pretty much adore all things kate spade. From clothes to jewelry to home stuff, it’s all just pretty amazing — but also, pricey. I love the kate spade Larabee Road tidbit plates, but they retail for $80 for four. Not gonna happen!

So when you’re like me — champagne taste on a beer budget — sometimes, you gotta get crafty. This was one of the easiest — and cheapest — DIY projects I’ve ever done! Here’s how…

DIY kate spade Gold Confetti Plates

What you’ll need:

4 white dinner plates (I got mine from the Dollar Tree)

1 gold permanent paint Sharpee

An oven

A little patience 😉

I propped up my iPad with an image of the plate so I could easily replicate the pattern of confetti, and drew on small circles.

After you finish decorating, just pop the plates in the oven at 350* for 30 minutes, and voila! Your very own kate spade dinner plates.

  1. love this!

  2. Sally says:

Can you put these in the microwave to heat up leftovers on?

    • Hi Sally!

Yes, they are microwave-safe. When you bake the plates when you make them, you’re sealing in the Sharpie paint. Let me know if you try this DIY project! I’d love to see pictures!
